New Delhi, February 16, 2019: Modi-led Indian Government seems to be on complete ‘action mode’ regarding India’s response to the heinous Terrorist attack carried out by Pakistan-based terror outfit.
Congress has also stated that they are completely with the Government in this fight against terrorism and this is not the time to just talk to Pakistan.
There is resentment in the country on the martyrdom of Pulwama. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has told the army that they should decide the time and place according to them for revenge. Meanwhile, the government has convened a meeting of all the parties to decide the measures to counterfeit acts of terrorism.
After the CCS meeting on Friday, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had informed that Home Minister Rajnath Singh will hold a meeting with all the parties. The same meeting has been convened today. This meeting is going on in Parliament House at the time of writing this report. Earlier, Congress President Rahul Gandhi had stated in a press conference that the entire opposition including the Congress party was with the government and the army.
The leaders in the meeting are:-
Apart from Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba, BSP leader Satish Chandra Mishra, RJD leader JP Yadav, CPM leader TK Rangarajan, Farooq Abdullah, K Venugopal, TRS Jitendra Reddy, Ram Mohan Naidu, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Chandu Majra, Naresh Gujral, TMC leader Derek O’Brien, Sudip Bandopadhyay, NCP leader Sharad Pawar, Anand Sharma, you leader Sanjay Singh, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut, Jai Riot Samiti and RLSP leader Upendra Kushwaha. CRPF’s ADG has also reached to attend the meeting as per the latest updates received.
Before the meeting, Ghulam Nabi Azad from the Congress Party said that Congress is ‘standing with the security forces’. Azad also clearly said that his party will ‘support the government to fight terrorism’. He said that this is not the time to negotiate.
It is worth noting that during the CCS meeting yesterday, the probability of retaliation by Pakistan was also discussed and accounted for. Rahul Gandhi, who is also the General Secretary of Indian National Congress, has also expressed support with the Indian government and Indian Security Forces.
