Saudi Prince Mohammed bin Salman will cooperate with India, share intelligence against terrorism

Saudi Prince Mohammed bin Salman said that we will cooperate with India on every step and share intelligence to fight against terrorism.
New Delhi: There was a meeting between Saudi Arabia’s Prince Mohammed Bin Salman and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the delegations of two countries in which there was agreement on several issues. During the meeting and the shared press conference, PM Modi said that our relations have further strengthened. Saudi Arabia is among India’s most important collaborators. Saudi Arabia is our extended neighbor and a close friend. It is also an important source of energy security of India.
Asserting that the barbaric attack in Pulwama last week is another cruel imprint of terror and that “barbaric attack in Pulwama last week is another cruel imprint of terror”, PM Modi said, “We agreed that to fight this challenge, there is a need to put pressure on countries extending any kind of support to terrorism.”
“Destruction of the infrastructure of terrorism, ending support to terror and bringing the supporters of terrorism to justice is essential,” said PM Modi.
Saudi Prince Salman said, “Extremism and terrorism are our common concerns. We will cooperate with you (India) in all possible ways including intelligence sharing to counter terrorism. We will work with all the countries to ensure a brighter future for the coming generations.”
After PM Modi meeting, Saudi Crown Prince talks about $100 bn investment opportunity in India Saudi crown prince Mohammad bin Salman said that his country had invested as much as $44 billion in India since 2016.
Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman has said that his country sees an opportunity to invest as much as $100 billion in various sectors in India in the coming few years.
“We believe that the (investment) opportunities in India are worth more than $100 billion. Together we want to make these investments beneficial for both India and Saudi Arabia,” he said.
“We want to diversify in other areas such as petrochemicals and storage,” he said.
“We want to make the relations between India and Saudi Arabia beneficial for both countries,” he said.
“These investments will help benefit the Indians in Saudi Arabia and the Saudi people who are working in India,” he said.
He said that Saudi Arabia had taken a leaf out of India’s book and had invested in the IT sector after PM Modi’s 2016 visit.
“We know India is strong in the IT sector and we have invested a lot in Saudi Arabia in the IT sector and have benefitted from it,” he said.
At the same time, Saudi Arabia’s Mohammed Salman said that against terrorism we will cooperate on every step including sharing intelligence with India.
PM Modi said, “Today we have done a comprehensive and meaningful discussion on all issues concerning bilateral relations. We have decided to take our economic cooperation to new heights. It’s time to turn our energy relations into a strategic partnership. The involvement of Saudi Arabia in the world’s largest refinery and strategic petroleum reserves leads our energy relations far beyond the Buyer-seller relationship. The economic, social and cultural relations of India and Saudi Arabia are centuries old. And it has always been cordial and friendly.
Earlier, a grand reception was held in the Rashtrapati Bhavan in honor of Prince of Saudi Arabia, Muhammed bin Salman. PM Modi and President Ramnath Kovind were also present. Saudi Prince said during these times, today we have to make sure that relations between the two countries grow and be better than ever. Under the leadership of the PM and the President, I hope that we will be able to do something good for both countries. Saudi Prince arrived in New Delhi late on Tuesday and PM Narendra Modi received him at the airport.
Agreements between India and Saudi Arabia
- India and Saudi Arabia have signed a deal on energy.
- MoU has been signed between India-Saudi Arabia in the tourism sector.

- The agreement has also been signed on sharing the broadcast between Prasar Bharti and Saudi Arabia.

Prince Salman was in Pakistan on Monday and in a statement issued after his meeting with his PM Imran Khan, it has been said that nobody should politically use the provisions of the United Nations ban provisions. This is directly pointing to the ongoing efforts of the United Nations to put a ban on Maulana Masood Azhar, the leader of Jaish-e-Muhammed. It is believed that the special request has been included in the joint statement on behalf of Pakistan.
Between Modi and Prince Salman, this meeting will be seen as a huge change in the picture of existing energy cooperation between India and Saudi Arabia. There exists tremendous trade opportunities between India and Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia sells oil and gas to India, but in the coming days, Saudi Arabia is going to be a big investor in the energy sector and India will become a major partner country for the Saudi’s in the field of solar power.
