- December 24, 2021
18 July 2018, Mumbai- There are so many talented and gifted people who achieved so much in life despite of the many hurdles that they had to face. Yet, these people have come out on the winning end of life. Such people are an inspiration to the society and need to be celebrated and recognized more often.
In an attempt to do so, industrialist and known philanthropist Dr. Aneel Murarka, CEO and Managing Director of Mirachem Industries, and Founder of Ample Missiion Events Entertainment and More Llp, along with his brother Manish Murarka, spearheaded a one-of-a-kind award called “Shoorveer Awards” that honours the uncommon acts performed by common men and women.
The idea behind this initiative is to honour the individuals who have no fear and have pursued extraordinary acts of bravery and courage and have set an example for the society.
The first edition of Shoorveer Awards was successfully organized in the year 2015. The event was attended by people from across industries, where Sharmila Thackery was the Guest of Honour. The fourth edition of the awards will be held on August 10, 2018 in Mumbai.
“If we take the generally accepted definition of bravery as a quality which knows no fear, these ordinary people have pursued extraordinary acts of bravery without fearing for life,” said Aneel Murarka. “I, along with my team, have worked hard to put everything together and have received immense support from our friends in the industry to make my dream project happen.”
“The bravery acts these people have performed have gone unnoticed; hence, we would award these people for their saga of bravery and propel the people to pursue acts of bravery,” said Manish Murarka.
The list of awardees includes Salma Memon who works for education of underprivileged and orphan children, Masooma Ranavli who is committed to #EndFGM, Dinesh Kumar, who has made 7 schoos accessible for handicapped, Major D. P. Singh, who has ran 18 marathons with a prosthetic limb, Royan Leo, who singlehandedly doused a fire that could have engulfed many residential buildings in Mumbai, and many more.
